MAGICAL CHRISTMAS TIME AT MONASTERY NATIONAL SCHOOL ARDEE

Christmas time is a magical time for the pupils of Monastery National School. On December 8th Canon Peter Murphy blessed the School Crib at the front of the school while the school choir sang carols. This beautiful crib is viewed by thousands journeying through Ardee by car on the busy N2 on their way home to all parts of the North at Christmas time.
Monastery NS also host their annual Christmas Concert in their school gym. The school hosted three performances of their Christmas Concert on December 13 and 14 including a matinee and two evening performances. The night time performances were wonderfully atmospheric and children and parents walked through a wonderful winter wonderland as they make their way through the school at night to the school gym.
The pupils performed to packed audiences of parents, grandparents and children. Two hundred and seventy pupils appeared on stage throughout the Concert and 750 parents, grandparents and friends of Monastery NS attended!

The first act of concert opened with Monastery NS School Choir’s lively singing of
Reach for the Stars! They will also be appearing at the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland’s Peace Proms in Belfast on February 25 2018.This was followed by the stars of the show, Ms Corr’s and Ms McKeown’s Junior Infants who performed The Day before Christmas. Ms McCreanor’s and Ms McCabe’s Senior Infants appeared on stage dressed up as beautiful presents and then performed in Under the Christmas Tree.
