Halloween Table Quiz - October 2013

Our Parents' Committee held a very successful table quiz in the Parish Centre just before Halloween break. Parents, friends and children from all local schools partook in a really great night's fun. Thirty one teams competed and the final two rounds were very close indeed.

Noel Rooney aka Murphy was our excellent quizmaster ably assisted by quiz markers Anne Woods, Gráinne Horan, Yvonne Martin and our score keeper Seán O'Brien. Many thanks to our quiz sheet collectors Maria and Joan and our sweet shop ladies!

School Based Fund Raising

Annual school fund raising activities include our Sponsored Walk (see photos to the right), St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Sales and Christmas Concern Raffle. In 2011 we hope to fund raise for REHAB as part of our 6th Class Challenge Programme.

Christmas Concert Fundraising

Proceeds of our Christmas Concert were given to the Charity Concern. It has been a long standing tradition in Monastery NS to support the work of Concern throughout the world. Ms Dee Clare came to visit our school on behalf of Concern and gave a presentation to the boys on the work of Concern. She highlighted their work in Haiti after the earthquake where Concern initially provided shelter, nutrition packs, mosquito nets etc. At the end of the presentation our boys presented a cheque to her for €500.
