August & September 2024

9th Oct 2024
Each month, 2 of our classmates have written about all the fun things we have gotten up to!
For August & September, our Student Council members Toby & Ben have written their memories of this month!

Toby: This month 5th class got to see space all thanks to the Armagh Observatory. They sent 1 of their astronomers. He was really nice. He showed us an asteroid! It was so cool! Then we went in to a dome where we learned about the asteroid belt, constellations, Saturn's rings and moons and then we learned about the other planets and their sizes. We are also on week 3 of our swimming lessons, so as you can see we had a great month! We still have 8 more to go!

Ben: Our first month in 5th class is over! We learned about space with the people from Armagh conservatory. They sent a robot up to mars and it even took a picture! We started swimming and we still have four more weeks. We’re learning to do Maths in an expanded form. We have the big football pitch and on other days we play basketball. We do art on a Friday, swimming on Thursdays. We do lots of learning about the history of Ireland. We started a song in Irish and we know most of the words. We read every day for 15 minutes after little break as well!
