Blessing of our Crib
Fr. Stefano visited our school yesterday to bless our wonderful crib. Mrs. Browne and Annamarie led our school choir in a beautiful rendition of Away in the Manger, while our Junior Infants girls and boys recreated the Nativity Scene. The Baby Jesus was presented to Fr. Stefano by our 6th class pupil, Turlough. Fr. Stefano then blessed the crib and reminded all the girls and boys about the true meaning of Christmas.
Thank you to Fr. Stefano, our school choir, our Junior Infant girls and boys, our parents and all the staff of Monastery NS for making the occasion so special.
The Monastery NS school crib is a long standing tradition and proudly stands at our school gable throughout the months of December and early January. The life-size, hand sculpted figures depict the Nativity Scene and remind not just our girls and boys of the true meaning of Christmas, but also the thousands of motorists who pass by our school on a daily basis.
