Catholic Schools Week is an all Ireland annual event which invites Catholic Schools to give expression in a special way to the ethos of Catholic Education. It marked the beginning of a special annual celebration in Monastery National School Ardee from Monday January 20th to Friday 24th.
The theme for the week was “Catholic Schools: Alive in Christ” and each day of this special week Monastery NS teachers and pupils celebrated a unique theme.
On Wednesday January 22nd Monastery NS hosted its annual Grandparents Day in all classes and over 230 Grandparents were made feel welcome. They first of all visited their children’s classes for some activities. Afterwards our grandparents enjoyed a well earned cup of tea and a bun in our school Gym and many old friends met again.
