Measuring weight in Senior Infants

In our Senior Infant classroom this week we have been using balance scales to explore weight in an engaging way. The boys placed a variety of classroom items on one side of the scale and they had to calculate how many cubes they would need to balance it. This hands-on experiment really helped to develop an early understanding of weight and showed the images on from their textbook in a real life setting. They really enjoyed this activity and worked excellently as part of a team to complete the tasks.
